This annual event works to celebrate and support the work that Marcus Ewing thought most important. Marcus had an ever-growing hope that every child should have access to a great education.
Thus, the Hope Film Series commits itself to raising awareness and funds for the Marcus Ewing Memorial Fund in the firm belief that creating opportunity is the catalyst needed to transform a child’s abstract dreams into tangible realities.
2020 Hope Film Series Update
Ten years. It’s hard to believe that this effort has endured that long. This year, however, our world finds itself in a fragile place. Viruses spreading. Fires burning. Jobs disappearing. Justice eroding. So as not to diminish these realities, the Hope Film Series will adjust its format and expectations for 2020.
In place of our meeting together for fellowship and film, this year the Hope Film Series will host two online gatherings of singing, speaking, and sharing. And if one is able, he or she will be afforded an opportunity to donate the Marcus Ewing Memorial Fund as it supports Shiloh’s HI-DEF mentoring program in New York City.
Yet the Hope Film Series’ primary concern is not so much the amount of money one raises for a child, but rather the amount of time one gives to that child. For a child only senses hope when he or she feels valued. And if cynical adults prove unable to contain viruses, extinguish fires, provide work, and preserve justice; then any prospect for change rests in hope-filled children.
So mark your calendars for the dates below and bring your desire for a better future with you.
